After spending a fair amount of time researching... my goal is to continue my education by becoming certified as a CTDP (Certified Training and Development Professional), which will provide a professional designation
The course follows a structured process and schedule and is developed to recognized individuals with 4 plus years of experience in industry. The core competencies of focus are
Assessing performance needs
Designing curricula
Designing learning experiences
Facilitating learning
Supporting transfer of learning
Evaluating learning
To maintain your CTDP designation, you must maintain membership in good standing and submit a professional development log every three (3) years for two consecutive three (3)-year cycles. Once you have maintained your membership for 6 years, members are exempt from submitting professional development logs going forward.
I find that having to maintain education credits provides me the necessary motivation to continue. The benefits to becoming certified such as educational opportunities to enable advancement and enrich careers and collaborative professional communities and expertise networks are a benefit to me. I am looking forward to this next stage of my professional development!
